Somaliland is officially part of the UN territory of Somalia. However, both are very different and have had different colonisers in the past. This basically created two different states that sadly don’t get along very well. Visiting the place was surprisingly interesting with extremely welcoming and educated people. It’s one of these unique territories in the world that you never thought you would visit. After spending some time in the region, I now know it is full of hidden gems! The landscapes are beautiful, the cities are vibrant, and it has some of the best-preserved ancient paintings you’ll ever see.
